Recover Old Photos

Terms of use

By using this tool you agree to the terms below. It is provided as-is, free for single images and small batches, and runs entirely in your own browser.

Your responsibility for recovered images

This tool helps you recover copies of images from the public Internet Archive. You are responsible for how you reuse them. Copyright in a photograph stays with whoever created it. Recover your own uploads freely; for anyone else’s photos, the same rules apply as anywhere — get permission before republishing, credit the photographer, and never present someone else’s photo as your own. We host nothing: recovered bytes flow from the Archive to your browser to your disk, and the rest is up to you.

No circumvention

This tool reads onlythe Internet Archive’s public Wayback Machine. It does not log into, scrape, proxy, automate, or bypass Photobucket’s own site, accounts, paywalls, watermarks, or APIs, and it never instructs you to. Where paying Photobucket is genuinely your only route to an image, we say so plainly.

Recovering a clean pre-2017 archived capture — the original image as it was publicly served before the 2017 change — is not watermark removal and is not circumvention; it is reading a public snapshot. We offer no watermark-removal content or tooling of any kind. You agree not to use anything here to attempt to bypass any access control on a living service.

No guarantee

Recovery depends entirely on what the Internet Archive captured. Coverage is real but uneven, and images the Archive never saved cannot be recovered by this tool or any other. We make no guarantee that any specific image can be recovered, and the tool always shows an honest tally of what it found and what it didn’t.

Payments and refunds

The optional one-time Deep Recovery purchase is sold through a third-party merchant of record (Lemon Squeezy or Gumroad), which processes the payment, handles tax, and issues your license key. Refund requests are governed by the merchant of record’s refund policy shown at checkout — please direct refund and billing questions to them. The free tier requires no purchase and stays free.

Trademarks and affiliation

This is an independent project, not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Photobucket, Inc., the Internet Archive, ImageShack, TinyPic, or any image host. Photobucket, ImageShack, TinyPic, Wayback Machine, and Internet Archive are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only nominatively to describe what this tool does. This site reads only the Archive’s public Wayback Machine and never accesses any of those services’ accounts or systems.
